OK SO THE TRUCK RAN GREAT YESTERDAY AND TODAY I WENT OUT TO GO SOMEWERE AND NOW THE TRUCK WONT START JUST CRANKS AND BLOWS LOTS OF WHITE SMOKE -------OK MOVING ON I JUST GOT IT RUNNING I PULLED FUSE 22 AND 9 BOTH GOOD AND CHECKED RELAY #303 ALL GOOD AND I PLUGED THE TRUCK IN BEFORE I CHECHED ALL THIS AND AFTER I WAS DONE CHECKING ALL THIS APPROX. 20 MIN THE TRUCK FIRED WRITE UP ANYONE HAVE ANY ANSWERS
Sounds like maybe a glow plug relay. Check voltage on the back side of the relay after turning the key on. Remember, this is a timed event... If it is the relay, remember that in a pinch you can use a screwdirver to jump the relay and glow the plugs...
To check the relay you have, use the diagrams in the link above to locate the relay. Check it with a DVM. Turn the key on, and during the first 15-30 seconds or so, check the voltage across the relay. It should read something around 1V if the relay is working. If not it will read 12 V.
