what is this part?
looks like the stock air intake rusted out and broke off of the carb on my 81 I6.
I have been to every sponsors site and ebay and can not locate any stock OEM item to replace my intake...
I have called it every name I can think of to search for it and still have no luck...
any help please.

That is what is called the air cleaner assymbly. It also has the "Climastic Air Blend Door assymbly, and Vacuum motor attached. You can get the vacuum motor, but not that assymbly.
Junk yard is your best bet. Remember to look at the Econoline vans too. The Trucks from the 1970's to 1981 use this cleaner assymbly. In 1982 it changed. However a newer one out of a 1982-1986 will work, however it will look different and you will need to change the plastic ductwork to the cleaner.
