let's say your buying a new black Lariat. which is the wheel of choice for you? there are 4 styles that I know of....18" chromes,20" chromes,18" aluminum,or 20" 6 spoke aluminum.
After having 20's on my 06 F150 I would prefer to have 18" wheels over 20s. But I'm not crazy about the 18's that come on the FX4s so I'm getting the 20" 6 spokes on my new truck. As for the Lariat, the 18" chrome clad wheels look pretty good. But IMO the 20" 6 spokes are still the best looking wheels that are currently available on F150s. Someday when I can afford it, I'll probably get some aftermarket 18" wheels.

I tend to agree with you. On black, the 18s have that chrome bling.but the 20" alum. still look good and more classy. Probably leaning 18s just for the added chrome in conjunction with the chrome grill and front and rear bumper.
I have the 18" chrome wheels on my 2010 and I like them. Then again, I'm not really picky when it comes to wheels. I would probably get one of the 20" wheels if I were ordering one. Or, if you aren't crazy about any of them, go cheap and get aftermarket ones like brandon suggests.
FWIW the bigger diameter rim the bigger the pricetag on tires
THIS...
tires for the 18" rims on my truck are going to be unpleasant enough when that day finally arrives but those 20" tires are just waaaay more than I ever want to have to spend on that.
Yeah buddy! My Nittos (295/70-18) were almost $1100 out the door, but they're bigger than stock. Sold some leftover stuff from the King Ranch and got 300 for the stockers with 5k miles on them, that eased the pain- a little.
The stock size 20" tires (275-55-20) aren't very expensive. Tire Search Results
But 20" tires do get expensive when you increase the diameter and or width over the stock size. The 18's do too.
I paid $1150 w/ shipping for my 305/55/20's a few years ago.
