rocker arm question

so i have the newer head were the rockers are bolted down. never looked into the size of the bolts when the motor was apart. i would like to change to stud mount this spring / summer when i pull the motor and redo it.

so the question anyone know the size of the bolt. hoping its the same size so i can just thread in new rocker studs.

You use caps in your name (alias) why can't you use them when you write sentences? All
lower case is hard to read....

The bolts are 5/16. Most studs are 7/16 on the bottom. Crane makes a kit to convert pedestal rockers to studs and guideplates with no machining. I wouldn't use it for a hot rod but for a normal 300 it should hold up okay.

By "hot rod" I mean more than .500" valve lift and 5,000+ rpm. They should hold up fine for most "normal" 300 builds - i.e. hydraulic flat tappet cam and a 4,500 rpm red line.
