steering wheel not centered

On my 71 F250 (manual steering) the steering wheel is about a quarter turn off when driving strait. Doesn't pull to either side, and the linkage seems tight, so it's probably benign.

How would one go about centering the wheel? Do I just take it off and center it, or is there an easier way of adjusting it?

if there is no play in the steering than you will have to remove the steering wheel and center it.

Drive the truck in rolling straight, pull the wheel and relocate it. You will need a puller to break it loose, resetting is done by tightening the nut. Not a real easy job, but you can pull it off.

Yup, remove the horn ring and contacts, remove the center nut and use a puller (free from local auto parts store) to pull the wheel. Center it and reinstall the nut, contacts and horn ring.

Do you know how to remove the horn ring?...if not, you'll break the plastic
connector plate. Push down and turn CCW. It has a large spring behind it
and there is also a small spring in a hole-this is the horn contact button....
don't lose it.
Remove the nut and use a steering wheel puller to pull the wheel. It's simply
a splined shaft that the splines of the steering wheel match to...once the car is
straight, as mentioned above, pull the wheel and straighten it, redo the nut.
Horn ring goes on with large spring and turn CW matching the little catches.
