alternator issues

alternator issues
89 f150 with a 4.9l, just completely rewired the alternator harness going to the started solenoid, still having some issues charging. not putting out 14 volts. any suggestions??

Do you have exciter voltage on the Light Green/Red wire with the key on?

the wires were already replaced once before, not factory colors. went wire to wire the way it was

I will ask the same question, Do you have voltage on the exciter wire with the key on? Use a meter to measure it.

I just did a 3G upgrade on my '92 F350. It had a crappy fire-prone 2G in it from the factory. There is a connector near the battery for the exciter wire on my truck. If your truck has the same connector it could be a source of trouble for you.
