Front Brake Pad Recommendations

Just want to know if anyone has any recommendations on Front Bake pads for an 06' F250 PSD Crew Cab ? I have the worst luck in choosing pads to last for ANY vehicle I own. Should I stick with Motorcraft SD pads? This is a new vehicle to me, so I have no history to go on with previous brake pad replacement. Thanks

I run the HAWK Ferro-Carbon front & rear as we tow our 37 footer a lot.

I've had Hawk LTS on mine now for 10k miles now. They stop very well. I've towed, plowed, and hauled heavy with them with no complaints.

I went back with the motorcraft premium pads as I got 108K out of my first set. They stop well cold and better when hot. The make NO dust and they don't squeal at all.

Hey Tim, I agree with everything you say except the dust. My stock pads makes my mags look red in about 500 miles.

I think the premium pads are an upgrade to the stock pads Mike. I get absolutely NO dust with mine and I have the KR gold wheels. I know it's not because I'm easy on brakes--LOL.

Do you know if the premium pads are ceramic?

I don't think so, at least not the ones I got. They were installed Jan. 08 and I don't know if the ceramic's have been out that long for our trucks.

Motorcraft or Raybestos are the only brake pads I will use, Bendix is crap.

Never buy cheap brake parts they will bite you in the azz in the end.

Motorcraft pads are very good and tend to wear great. I've also had the issue of dust when using them.

I have to agree with npccpartsman's recommendation, I have 115K on my original motorcraft pads and still have over 5/16 pad left. Never had a dust issue, the only issue I have had is a slight squeal after my truck sits for a week or so until the surface rust is gone, then so is the squeal.
