2003 crew cab, stick. My V10 just started to run a little rough this morning. Ran fine when I left home, shut it off at our company's office, sat for 30 min or so. Started it up, drove 1 mile and waited for train crossing. Ran fine up til this point. Idled at crossing for 5 min or so. As soon as I pulled away it started to run a little rough. Drove 1/2 mile to shop. Pulled into the shop, still running rough and exhaust smells like rotting eggs. No check engine light yet. Also, I didn't let the truck warm up as long as usual and it is very low on gas. This is only 2nd tank of gas I've put in it. First tank was 87 octane w/10% ethanol, 2nd tank is, (and always will be), 87 octane non-ethanol. Like I said, no engine light yet. Any thoughts or opinions would be appreciated.
Finally got home and hooked up the scan tool. P0302 code come up. Check engine light must be burned out or something because of still isn't on. Now making a run to the parts store to pick up a COP. Hoping this does it.
Engine light comes on when I cycle the key just before startup. So it isn't burnt out. Will a misfire trip the light or not. I had a distributor go bad causing a misfire on my other truck and it never triggered the engine light. Seems to me it should.
