The tank looked great inside. I was worried it might have rust but it was clean. It looks rusty in the picture but it actually is silver cad color inside. My camera flash wasn't turned on. I found the replacement electric plug I will need to wire it to my truck and some fuel lines with the OEM style connectors on them too. I want to be able to fix it if I'm out of town and it breaks down. It should be a plug and play if I ever have to replace it.

I'm not too happy with the way the new pump just sits on the bottom of the tank. It looks like it could fall over and the float could end up against the side of the tank. The guy at Ford said that is how they go. Oh well.

The old sending unit was rigid except for the parts that had fallen off over the years

Nice to hear from you Ken. Not nice to tell us it is 80 degrees!!
Keep stockpiling and accumulating, that way when you get the urge you don't have to leave the garage for a parts or hardware run.

Regards, Mark.

Thanks Mark,
I have to rub it in some because in August when it's 115 here, I'll be wishing for this time of the year. I'm trying to get motivated again. If I could just
hear it start, I know I'd be out there working like crazy to get it drivable.

It's been in the 80's here and I finally got off my butt and did something. I've been collecting parts but not doing anything with them.
I ordered a fuel pump/sending unit combo and replaced the sending unit that came in the fuel tank I bought last year. It was from a F350 diesel and they use an external pump. I'm hoping by going OEM, it will last a while and work well.
Merry Christmas to you, too!

Trying to get all the big priced items bought while I can afford them. This purchase killed this years tax return. Six Toyo's 265/70R-19.5 tires. They aren't too aggressive but still look cool. I hope to get them mounted this week. They are 34" tall. With these tires, the 4.88 gears work out to be the same ratio as my '05 Ranger with 29.5" tires and it's 4.10 gears. With the E4OD transmission the 460 will be doing approximately 2500 rpm at 72-73mph.

Good to hear from you Ken. Those are great looking tires, but expensive!! I found the same set here for $200.00 each, but I am still trying to find some 285's, which are 1" taller.
I'm going to have to buy some Vision 81 rims, since I can't find any plain steel ones with my 8 on 6.5 lug pattern, I didn't want chrome or polished, but no luck.
Please post some pictures when you get them mounted.
Very exciting!!!

Regards, Mark.

The excise tax added quite a bit to the costs too. I wanted to go with the 285's also but my wheels aren't wide enough. They do look good mounted and there is still plenty of room between the duals. I was kind of worried they might be too close together. The 265's measure 34.5" tall. That's much better than the 245's I had.
I hope to get it outside tomorrow and get some good pictures of it on good tires.

Thanks Scott. Welcome. I hope to get it out of the garage in a day or two and take some good pictures with the new tires on it.

Got her pushed outside today. It's not an easy job as tall as it is!

The best part is doing it, after it's done, who cares?
