No starter
Buddy of mine is sitting at home trying to start his truck. Early 99. The starter silnoid just clicks once and no rotation. Changed the Noid no difference. Charging the batteries also. just got home about an hour ago and truck wont start. HELP needs truck now! Alternator has humming noise while key is off.

You say that you changed the silinode on the starter. To do this you had to take the starter off of the truck. I assume that it tested fine after this fix? Was the silinode installed correctly? when putting the starter back on did you bolt it tight for a good ground? Did you get the hot wire and starter wire on correctly. Did you NOT break the starter post by turning it too far after it was snug (I broke mine off once
). The starter may be on a 'dead' spot. Whack it with a hammer a couple of times and then try to turn it over. I don't think that the Alt should be humming with the key off.
