Fair Price?
After 05 they fixed the majority of the problems with the 6.0. Some improved head bolts, a quality aftermarket fuel filter, and either an egr delete, or a tuner will make that motor bulletproof.
Fact of the day: after 04 the 6.0 had less warranty claims on it that the 7.3 ever did

It's possible, but I think it's average warranty claims per engine sold.
Ford Trucks for Ford Truck Enthusiasts
if you don't receive good enough reasons why, then tell them your not that interested in a 16 year old truck with 200k on it and walk away...........they'll stop ya.

they likely pretty much just took the thing from a guy who recently bought a new(er) truck from 'em.
she sure is pretty.
XLT?
you can use these words repeatedly when negotiating;
close to 200,000 miles (no this nothing for that engine.but you don't need to let on,that you already now this.)
16 years old (so it looks rust free.so what.reminding them of its actual age will help you.
)you could say things, like "too bad its just the plain one solid color".these look so good two tone these years (even if you prefer the lower cost single color.keep that to yourself.)
look for any oil leaks you can find, and any faults when test driving it,and feed of its weak links too them.
tell them your ready to spend the $,but your only interested in a good deal.
let 'em know you'd like like to be in something much newer than "just a 16 year old truck" but you'd be willing to settle in a heartbeat if the price was right (even if you hate the '99 up super duty "dodge copy cat" look.keep it to yourself.
)diesel fuel prices are VERY high.be sure to bring this up a few times, and then a couple more times.

remind them that diesel engines cost a LOT more to maintain than gas engines.
bring the copy of KBB with you,and let them know, you'd really like to pay under book, and you just need a good deal.
and remember, above all else.don't show them that you WANT the truck ever! show them it "could" be something you'd be willing to settle on.
once you show your cards that your after it.it's game over.they got ya,and they know it.they'll hold firm until you pay up then.

Dont get me wrong, you fix those problems and the 6.0 is pretty solid platform

As for you fact of the day. Where did you get that line of BS

A mechaninc friend of mine. He's a diesel tech that specializes in Ford trucks. He does work on fleets, and for dealerships. He has even developed software that warns of impending trouble before the engine gauges or idiot lights know whats going on. Needless to say, he knows his stuff, and he himself owns a 6.0
