If your talking about the one on the drivers door, they would be for setting the memorys for seat, mirror and peddles ( if you have adjustable peddles )

they can be set for 3 different drivers, put everything where you want it, push the set button then #1, repeat for #2 & #3 for #3 you have to push #1 & 2 at the same time. It does NOT however move the rear view mirror on the windshield. The keyless entry remotes are also programmed for the memory settings too. So be sure the #1 remote is given to the driver who programs #1 for the memory features etc.

It also sets the child locks on the rear doors.

FYI, although you can program the memory system at any time, when pressing buttons 1, 2, or 3 (1&2) to change to another saved position, I believe it will only work if you're in park.

Your are correct! Wise man. LOL

Here's a clip from the manual:

Memory seats/rearview mirrors/adjustable pedals (if equipped)
This system allows automatic
positioning of the driver seat,
outside rearview mirrors, and
adjustable pedals to three
programmable positions.
The memory seat control is located
on the driver door.
• To program position one, move
the driver seat to the desired
position using the seat controls.
Press the SET control. The SET control indicator light will briefly
illuminate. While the light is illuminated, press control 1.
• To program position two, repeat the previous procedure using control 2.
• To program position three, repeat the previous procedure but press
controls 1 and 2 simultaneously.
A position can only be recalled when the transmission gearshift is in
Park. A memory seat position may be programmed at any time.
The memory seat positions are also recalled when you press your remote
entry transmitter UNLOCK control.
To program the memory seat to remote entry transmitter, refer to
Remote entry system in the Controls and features chapter.
