2003 6.0D EX starter????

Looking for a little advice. This morning all is well head to the gym about 4:30am come back out at 7:30 and crank the truck and it sounds like scaping metal. I immediately look for missing fluids and all is good. I crank it one more time starts right up and engine sounds great. I drove about 2 miles turned it off and tested one more time. Agian it starts great sounds normal but the cranking noise is definately not normal.

My deduction is some type of starter problem clearly.... Any thoughts or experience with similar situation

All the bolts came loose in my starter also a 03EX 6.0 and two of the three were gone.Check your starter bolts and see if they are loose or missing.
