Melting wires?

Melting wires?
Last night I was driving, with the heat on 82 degrees (if that matters). I started noticing a slight smell through the vents, like wires burning/melting. It was very slight, and never got better, or worse, over the next 45 minutes or so until I got home. I didn't pop the hood at first (didn't want the "smell" to escape too fast) and traced the slight smell to the passenger side. Popped the hood and got the "wafting" smell, but nothing major, not stronger than when I smelled it in the cab.
I didn't see anything melted, no smoke, or anything that looked like it could be sitting on the block/manifolds etc. Basically, everything looked fine and no burnt fuses.
I'm not going to worry too much about it now, as it may of just been kinda "one of those things", but has anyone here experienced anything like this?
It really was VERY slight, but constant. I may just be weird, but any smell coming from anywhere that seems out of place I notice

Didn't think about trash in the road, thanks, I'll have to check around bottom side of the truck.
