had mine for about two weeks, got about 10 inches of snow last night, plowed with this truck for the first time, wow, what a difference in power, and i got about 11 to 12 miles to a gallon plowing, got 6 to 7 in my old 5.4 gasser, and it was slow, love my truck so far, and i dont see anything changing that for a while...lol.. best truck i ever had, and had alot of new fords. 460, v-10, 351, 5.4, 300 six bannger, full size bronco, ford expedition, ford explorer, nothing made me smile like this truck does, when you travel up a mountian everyday home from work, going from about 1100 ft elv to 2600 ft elevation, it just makes you smile, although i do love my 65 fastback too, it makes me smile too
The 2011 F-350 brought me back to Ford after a 15 year run of Dodge, Chevy and Toyota. I would have kept the Toyota, but it did not have the payload capacity and I was always overloading it. There have been a lot of improvements since I owned my last Ford F-350. I love the way this truck drives, the fuel mileage, the capabilities and it's fit and finish. I have yet to put it through all my abuse, but this summer will tell. One thing I learned today was that I can put real tire chains on the front wheels! This means I can get to my property in the spring about 3 weeks earlier since I can make it up the steep grades on my road through snow left in some of the shady spots on my road. Ford seems to have gotten it right this time.
MPG towing is much improved over the 2008 I had before. Towed yesterday about 550 miles and mpg was 13.4 coming home (with a tailwind). This same route in the 2008 resulted in mpg of about 11.1, so I am consistently seeing about 2mpg or more towing and about 3mpg better around town or just highway driving. The power is incredible and it is quiet.
