Outa here!
We went out 400, the 44 to Springfield. Then 60 to just before Fordland. That was where the fun started. We missed a turn that would of taken us east but instead went a bit farther south and then east. Ya know that insurance comercial bout the gps causin maham an causin a wreck. Well it took us to a little river with no bridge. So Larry locked ur in 4 wheel low un I hung my arm out the window to reach down an check the water level. My hand stayed dry and I never got ta mark twain and we made it through. Exhaust was under water but that Jeep didn't sound near as good as the Ford's I have owned. We meet Larry's relatives in Tecumseh. Went south into Arkansas fer some eats. The next mornin we just continued our scenic drive east on 160. Just like the ridge county around Branson. Very nice. Picked up 4 lane and 60 at Poplar Bluff. More fun started when we neared the Mississippi. The plan was ta continue east on 60 at Charleston, MO. The Ohio and Mississippi converge at Cairo,IL. We were gonna cross the bridge over the Mississippi into Cairo and then another over the Ohio into Kentucky near Wickliffe, KY. But the bridge over the Mississippi was closed. We were trying to get on I-24 at Paducah,KY. Weren't too bad though just up I-57 ta cross the Mississippi then down south to Cairo and back on 60 and over the Ohio. But man that sure is a slow way to get there. Eat up a bunch of time. After that it was an easy drive down I-24 to Nashville then south to Franklin were we spent the night. Then the next day I dropped Larry off at the cooporate headquaters in Franklin to get his new truck and I started back. I was an easy drive back to Paducah and then a time eating one to get from Paducah to Charleston, MO. After I stayed up on 60 and 4 lane to Springfield. That was a nice drive.
Larry's new truck is lava red and and he says he really likes it. Said he'll send me some pics and a report on it as soon as he is able to get it together.
Larry is due back to Wichita around the first of April to pick up his Jeep. Might be able to have a gtg then. Just need to see what his plans are. Don't know if he will want to turn around and start back or not. Just have to see if he spends the night do this way or not.
