No I didn't trade my truck off for a ecoboost. I went to the dealer on Saturday to humor my wife who took our Escape in for service on friday and came home with the idea she needed a Edge. She has always wanted a Edge but they were a little more than what we wanted to spend on a vehicle at the time so we got the Escape. We accualy went to look at a 2010 Edge sport in red, but they had just got in a 2010 Edge limited buy back with only 18,000klm. It was just what she always wanted fully loaded except for nav. so now we go to pick up our Edge on Tuesday, just in time for our little trip to Calgary this weekend for a hockey game. Good trip to see what it gets for mileage.
Nice choice. I would like one also, but the money purse says no. I like the Ford Flex. I thought when I saw the ads on them they were ugly, But seeing them in person They look roomy and depending on color scheme they look pretty good.
You will like having more room than the Escape gives.
Thats what I find most new vehicles today have gave up room for lugage and comfort for gas milage. Gone are the days when you could load full size sheets of plywood and be able to shut the rear doors.
Marlon, what color is that Edge? I think they have some of the nicest lines out there. I also like the Cadillac SRX 4 - its one sexy, over-priced vehicle, in the same manner that the Lincoln version of the Edge is!!!
The Escape was great for the two of us, but now with the little guy and taking along stroller, play pen and all the other stuff we need for him we thought it would be nice to have the exra room. The Edge is also supposed to get the same fuel mileage as the Escape, but time will tell.
Thats going to be a sweet ride!! I like the Edge, Flex, and some of the other brand x-overs. I'm not impressed with what Ford has done with the Explorer. It used to be more of a "truck" style SUV, now they've turned it into an extended wheelbase Edge IMO. I didn't have any plans of buying one no matter what they did with it, but I liked it better before...
i like the edge, i tried to convince her to buy one when she had her accident with our tribute. Didnt do any good. Minivan for us now (never thought it would happen)
My wife has wanted a Egde ever sice they came out in '07 and can't stand mini vans(which makes me happy). There was nothing wrong with the Escape, it only has 37,000klm on it but now that we are living so close to both parents and they want to be around there grandson a lot, we found it tight in the back of the Escape with the car seat and two people. We pick up the Edge tomorrow so I will try to post some pic's soon, I know how we all like pictures!
Picked it up today, will get a good test with it to Calgary this weekend.
All we need the Edge to tow is the boat once and a while, so the 3500lb tow rating on the Edge is good enough to pull our 2500lb boat. Just have to take it back next week to get the hitch and wiring harness installed.
