I have a 78 F250 4x4, I will be putting a 300 in it.
I'm a long way from needing tires but A) there is always somebody pulling nearly new tires off their truck and putting them on craigslist for dirt cheap and B) while I have 99% of the weight off the frame is when I want to do a lift, if I do any lift.
I would like to run 35's on the street for sure, and IF I can clear'em I'd like to run 37's for play time. I have some 265/75R16's I'm going to run for a while because they're E rated and I'll need'em for towing a such (mainly what I'm building this truck to do).
I've seen the skyjacker add a leaf kit for really cheap on truckaddons.com and if I do anything I think that will be it since this is a tight budget build.
This build is to tight I squeak when I walk lol.
Post pics if you have some of your 3/4 ton trucks with 35's please!
not sure what you mean with the weight question... but 35s on a 2" add aleaf will fit but stick to 12.5 wide on 8" rimms or you'll need to clearence the fender some...remembeer with a add a leaf you need new spring center pins and possible new u bolts... as for 37s you'll need more than a 2" lift.. being on a budget the 73-77 highboy front springs are a direct fit and add 4"... then you can lift block the back and be 4" taller...
no worrys mate, theres alot of folks with alot of good info on here....and i learn somethin almost evertime i'm on here...check my photobucket listings orfordguy and look at the supercab it has 35s and no current lift....it will have a 4" lift with custom 8" wide dually wheels and 315X75R16s mts of some kinds...
I have some 16.5x10's here that I got with the truck, I'm thinking of mounting some military tires or a 35 on them for play and just keeping the 265's that are E rated for everyday driving... Idk. I haven't fully finished my tear down and I have this thing built 1000 different ways in my head...

Me too...My mind works at 1,000 mph when thinking of stuff to do on my projects. It helps if I write stuff down to remind myself how deep I should, I want to, or need to go with anything I do. It's called planning.... in the end it helps me save money so I don't go *****-nilly changing directions and end up with mismatched or mis-purposed parts.
