I was wondering if you guys had a preferance to a preticular brand of tire cleaners. I am looking for that new tire gloss look.. I've been using a generic Ford cleaner, works for a few days. Really works at helping me find any cuts on my hands that I didn't know about
Ahhhhhh yes. The unknown cuts in the tire cleaner!!!LOL
Anywho, I use a cleaner called bleach-white. It comes in a white bottle, and is blue in color. If you buy a 1 gallon container, it comes concentrated, so you can dilute it to fit your needs. It takes EVERYTHING off your tires. I mean everything!! I would not recommend a faulty cleaning product, since I know what it feels like to spend $8 on "the miracle carpet cleaner" and then find out that it does nothing at all. Trust me, this stuff cleans. I use it on everything that can take the acidic nature of this product. I use it on my frame before it gets its anual coat of paint. After you wash your tires and rims with this, apply the gloss agent of your choice, since this stuff will leave them as dull as a high school chalkboard at 3pm. I prefer the clear stuff, called Black Magic. It is a lot thicker than Armor All, and it actually keeps the tire shiny, like they claim. I hope this helps!
For a tire cleaner I agree with the bleach white stuff. Had very good success with it. Lately though I have started buying "Purple Power" cleaner at Wal-Mart that is similar to Simple Green type cleaners. Mix this 50/50 with water and does as good a job as the bleach white......for a few dollars less.
I also use the bleach White for normal thorough cleaning, but for a quick clean just before I take it to the shows, I use onestep foam. This stuff is very easy and inexpensive. I made a cardboard circle the same diameter as my rims so that I don't get the overspray on my hubcaps. It won't hurt the finish, but I don't want to have to reclean them every time I spray the tires. John
Bleche-white (that's how the company spells it) has been around for years- I remember my father using it on the whitewalls of his DeSoto (did I just show my age? ). I still use it to this day. And the tire foam is pretty good stuff for a quick cleaning, but I found it leaves the strangest stains on the asphalt driveway, so I only apply it when the car's in the garage, on the concrete floor. Doesn't seem to hurt the concrete.
I use Grease Lightning. Spray it on the wheels, tires, rotors, inside the fenderwells, etc. Then just scrub off with a brush. The stuff works great, and can be used for so many other cleanings. I buy it in a 5 gallon bucket
It does basically the same job as Bleach-White, but I had a problem with Bleach-White one time when I used it on a set of aluminum wheels that did not have the clearcoat anymore. I spent the next day polishing the wheels because it is pretty strong. I know a lot of people use it and haven't had it happen, but I haven't had that problem with the Grease Lightning...
Greased Lightning - I'll have to give it my thumbs up also.
"We" use it to clean our Dump Truck and "I" use it to clean the kitchen. It gets all of that built up grease from cooking off the cabinets, stove, counter, etc.
