guages

I am in the process of replacing my OEM gauges out of my '63 F100 and am wondering if any of you could recommend any one manufacturer over another? I have wracked my brain as to how I could fit in new guages, and realize there are a couple of aftermarket dash inserts out there, but they are around $200 after S/H, plus the cost of a guage set. I have seen some home made dashes via pictures, but cannot quite figure out how these folks have done their dashes. However, there is a lot of after market stuff from quad gauges, to tri gauges, to individual sets, but would like to know if some brands are better than others. Any and all input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Jim

guages

Never really bought any "nice" guages to let you know what I think. But I have bought many of the cheaper mechanical types found in the local stores, and they work ok. But I always have problems with the temperature guage. It seems they only last about 2 years.

I would not pay a lot of money for the guages. They all seen to work about the same. I also have had a few temp guages that tend to stick sometimes (mechanical type). I just like them because of the better resolution.
