Help with electric windows needed

I posted this first on the bodywork forum, but was told there to bring it back here...

Still working through the issues with my new truck, and I have various issues with ALL of the windows. I don't mind starting a thread for each issue, unless you guys will help me address them here as we go.

First, maybe lets look at the drivers window? It goes up and down, motor sounds smooth enough, but when the window reaches just about all the way down, it wants get all wobbly and acts like it wants to leave the track. I can tell that the PO used some kind of cheep aftermarket rubber runs.

The part of the track that goes down inside the door seems to be too far spread apart, not holding the window stable and in the track. I saw the bolts in the door skin that holds the brackets that house the runs, loosened them to see if I could pull the runs in a little to better guide the window, but there doesn't seem to be any, or just very little adjustment available to me. The plastic end on the arm that lifts the window is there, and I lubed the track that it goes back and forth in just to make sure that it doesn't bind.

How do I fix this issue? If you need pics, tell me of what and I'll post them.

Thanks!

I haven't had a door apart in a while but the guides shouldn't get any wider at the bottom as I remember. This part of the mechanism would be the first thing to fix. Perhaps if the PO was just looking for a quick fix because the window was slowing down or dragging, he may have deliberately opened the channel. Replacing the felt lining in the track would have fixed the original problem but now that the track is too wide, you are faced with trying to reshape it again, or replacing it.

Why don't you take several pictures and post them? point at whatever causes you trouble so we can think of a viable solution. But i think you might want to consider new, better quality tracks, LMC and Jeff's Bronco Graveyard carry them.

I'll post pics tomorrow after the sun rises again.

I'll also look at LMC and Jeff's to get an idea of costs. If I have to go that route, so be it. If I can fix it though, I'd like to try. I have so many little things that need to be addressed that I may need to just get some things functioning, and tweak for the long run later. If I can understand the problem as it is now, I'll be making much headway!

Rest assured though, if the only way to make it right is to "make it right", then with your help, I will.

Thanks for the help, and I'll be back tomorrow with those pics.
