81 VIN Decode
I'm looking at getting a '81 F150. It has this VIN
1FTDX15GXBKA14147
Tranmission K
Axle 17
I tried the VIN decoder in the Tech section but it only goes up to 1980.
What I'm most interested in is the engine, type of auto tranny and axle.
The emissions sticker says it's a 5.8L which should be a 351. I'm wondering if it's the M or W.
Where is it currently parked and with flat tires, I can't see under it to see the shape of the tranny pan, but if I can't get the answer here I will go back out there and see if I can jack it up to look.

Thanks Brown, that's what I was looking for. The truck is going to be a donor engine and tranny for a 1980 SWB Flareside. Other parts are going on my '71 and '56 F100.
