I rebuilt a transmission in a F250 7.3 diesel, E40D transmission. When I first started the vehicle it wanted to go in reverse all the time. After a while it finally went in reverse when supposed to but I had no forward gears. This was the problem I had originally and why I rebuilt it. The forward gears were burnt, after rebuilding I had the same trouble. It acts like it is always in park and I have to put the transfer case in neutral for us to move it. Any suggestions at this point?

That sounds like the parking pawl inside the transmission isn't disengaging. Possibly some little thing on the parking pawl linkage inside the transmission.
Sounds like you have forward and reverse clutches applied at the same time. Maybe stuck valve/leaking valve body?
I think I would post the problem on the transmission page, some great E4OD experts there. Just go on down the main forum page and you will come to it.
If that is the problem then the forward clutches are probably toast again.
But not an expert.
