Power mirror

I have a 97 F250 Powerstroke, I need to replace the chrome piece that is on the front side of the drivers power mirror. I can see the screws that hold it on behind the mirror, but how do you get the mirror out?

I can't say for sure on our trucks, I don't even have power mirrors on mine, but from my exp. With some cars they have just popped out with a little pull, usually a plastic pin and reciever type deal, but you might wanna wait for someone who has done it to tell you!

I went online and it showed that on most power mirrors the glass is held in with clips and you just pull it off. I pulled pretty hard on the back of the mirror with some L shaped screwdrivers I have and I could not budge it. I hope someone has taken one off before I break something.

Thank you! I assume that the bronco would be close in the way they attach the mirror in a F250. I figured that it HAD to come off as there is no way to get to the screws that hold the chrome cap on the front side on, the chrome cap is available from ford, unless someone has one in thier junkyard at home.--Here is what they say in the manual
Removal
  1. Push in on the inboard edge of the glass assembly until it stops.
  1. Protect the mirror body with a rag or similar material at the outboard edge and insert a flat blade screwdriver (in about one inch) between the mirror body and glass assembly.
  1. Pry the glass assembly out from mirror body until it snaps loose.
  1. Remove the screwdriver and continue to pull the glass assembly by hand until it is completely unsnapped.

If it's the same mirror, I'd be sure it's the same.

Thanks again, 427. It makes a difference WHERE you start to pry the mirror off. It is called Jacks Law. I have a 50% chance of getting it right and I was trying to pry it off the wrong side. It has fingers all the way around the center of the mirror EXCEPT where they show you to pry it from. Makes it easier to start to come off. Came off easy!!!!
