Help solve mystery ailment please...
I have less than 16,000 miles on this thing even though it is my daily driver. Also, may or may not be relevant, ever since the updated reflash at the local dealer about 2 years ago I'm not sure this thing goes into regen anymore. I definitely haven't seen the message (which I understand is only around for a short period now) and only recall about 2 times when the motor ran at seemingly higher RPMs (and both time were while the truck was moving on the road and not at idle like my regens were before the reflash.)
Just to make things more interesting my warranty runs out in 3 weeks. Any insight into what should be checked/replaced would be appreciated. I'm going to schedule the truck for service next week - if my other vehicle is back from service by then...
You will want to report the mileage drop along with the smoke and rougher running motor.
As it happens I added coolant just before this started to happen - not much about 12 ounces and as of yesterday the level hasn't changed.
What I did notice is that oil is way over the high mark on the dipstick. Also, as of yesterday, I'm getting 7 mpg per the computer...
Planning to drop this thing off unscheduled at the dealer later today before I fly out of town.
