Those Z series guages ain't bad looking. Not much more than glowshift either. Total would be about $250 if I could use my old pyro probe and line and don't need a $150 probe kit. How do they look at night? Did you get the green bulbs or the green bulb covers? Do they match the dash lights?
yeah, they look great and with the green covers, they compliment the stock very nicely. Id recommend them to anyone. for price i am at about 350 because i bought everything new and in canada haha(still waiting for trans but paid already). For pyro, boost, trans, pillar together it isnt bad but i rest easy with the price knowing they will last a long time.....fingers crossed!! haha.
On a side note, i just ordered the autometer Z series 0-5000 Tachometer that uses the alternator probe so i should be sitting pretty soon! haha
I was just reading this, you gauges look that green? It seemed like it would but the glowshift logo doesn't really jump out at ya so it looks nice. And from what I've read, I see no reviews of glowshifts failing or stop working so I'll probably stick with them.
You got any pics of it at night? Also, did you take a pic of the back of the pyro? If not, what did it look like? My sender brings up a yellow and a red wire and I connect it to the gauge and it works and then I connect the lights separately. Does that sound similar to your setup? A pic would be great but I don't to make you pull it all apart if you don't already have a pic, lol.
Snapon, that sounds right for the pyro setup. Two wires to the thermocouple, make sure they connect to the right places. A ground and power wire separate for the lights. My Isspro was a little different as it has some magic box in the middle that supposedly cleans up or amplifies the signal from the thermocouple. But the connection to the thermocouple is just the two wires.
How it works is the thermocouple changes resistance as it heats up, and the gauge is just measuring the resistance, much like other temp gauges, but it is referencing smaller differences across a specific metal inside the probe instead of referencing to ground like water or oil temperature gauges.
Ok cool, sounds right to me. Here is a pic, kinda crappy but you get the idea (does it look like yours wreck??) - thats a light I put in the hole in order to barely see at night.
looks like mine mostly but mine is electric so it has two extra red and black wires for power to the gauge as well as the thermocouple red and yellow and the bulb black and white. So essentially three sets of wires for mine.

Oh ok, you got any pics of the gauges lit at night with the green light?
that my crappy iphone camera, ill get the canon on it tonight so you can see it exposed a bit more. Id say that my dash lighting is bright to say the least, these are bright as well but it inst over bearing like some kind of neon glow. Oh and for green and red, I'm red green color deficient so i cant be much help there lol. little dot tests kick my ***!
yeah i know its the camera, ill take a good one with the canon tonight so you can see how bright it really is. They are very noticeable but not overpowering.
