Hi I am new to the forum and this seems like a bad way to make an introduction but I am looking for some help. I am under the impression that the part that I am referring to is know as a fuel tank selector valve. It has 6 ports no electrical connectors. I unscrewed the bowl off the bottom of it and noticed that
(1) It was missing the filter inside
(2) It had dropped one of the o-rings
(3) What appears to me to be selectors, one is jammed open
The reason I opened it today was I thought my pump on the frame was going bad so I replaced it because the truck died on me today. I was getting no fuel. When I replaced it I was still getting no fuel. I disconnected the lines going to the said assembly and turned the key on to test each pump in the tanks and each pump would put out fuel. The rear tank not so much because it is actually empty. But the selector has sucked one of the things up and jammed itself up in the spring. I am looking to replace this. I called the dealer and they told me the part number on this item was F1UZ9B263Bcan anyone confirm this? I would be ordering this online because I can get it for $120 versus $230 that the dealer is asking. Any help would be appreciated.
I did find a online site Silverstate Ford Parts. When I called them they told me that they are actually a dealer of OEM Ford parts and they sold me the part for $120+ shipping. Local dealer wanted $230. I gave the company the above mentioned part number and they said that is the part that they would be shipping out to me so lets hope that it is the correct part. I guess I will find out in 4 business days.
Was exactly the part and fixed my problem. Ordered it on a Friday morning was in my mailbox Tuesday afternoon. Came out of NV and I live in DE. So shipping was pretty fast too.
