Cam Phaser Question for 2006
I heard in late 2006 models the 5.4 doesn't have the cam phaser issues that prior years have.
Just wondering if it's true or not. As i saw a 06 on a car lot with 154,000 on it and was thinking of looking at it. It's a F350 4x4 crew cab with the 5.4 3V.
Any help or advice is greatly appreciated.

I have a 2007 F-150 with the 5.4 engine. It has 62XXX miles on it and at 55XXX miles both cam phasers, lash adjusters, and lifters had to be changed for a low RPM knock. If the truck your looking at has gone for 154XXX miles there probably is not any manufacture defects with it, just listen for a knock between 900-1100 RPMs.
