Which King Pin Set?

72 F100 2wd with drum brakes.

I'm looking at rockauto.com and they list two King Pin Sets.

MOOG Part # 8524B $47.79 and
TRW Part # K529B for $27.79

Are both of these kits compatible with my truck?

The contents of the kit appear to be the same.. metal bushed, fittings, pins, etc.... Moog parts typicall cost more... I just rebuilt the front end of my Pontiac and went with all Moog branded parts.

i think the different options you will find are
1) normal sized brass bushings (require reaming)
2) normal sized nylon bushings (ez)
3) oversized brass bushings (require total rebore)

Get the Moog kit with the brass bushings. Ream them out to fit the kingpins ( or have a machine shop ream them for you ). They will last much longer than the Delrin bushings.

Both kits have brass bushings. The TRW kit is a dealer closeout which I'm guessing is the reason for the price.

Thanks to everyone who responded.

Have them measure the lengths of the kingpins in both sets. It seems to me that 1972 and 1973 years both used 2 different lengths of kingpins. I think that might account for the price difference. You might also call a local parts place and ask about this.

There's nothing wrong with the TRW's if it's just a closeout deal. Through 74 will use the same king pin set. I use the brass and have them fitted at a machine shop.
