Electrical trouble

Ive got an 87 Ranger 2.3 5spd reg cab long bed with a 3" body lift.
It cut out on me last week and wouldnt start back up.
Ive gotten down to the fact that im getting spark, and the pumps are running only when i jump the relay. Both relays tested out good, and curent is getting to them both. I dont think the relays are energizing on their own. No click is heard when the key is to the on position. Anyone help? Anyone have schematics for this?

Tony

Electrical trouble

Looking at the wiring diagram for my 1989 Ranger you should have power from the ignition switch to the ECU relay to energize and close the relay. The r/lg wire should have B+ with the ignition switch turned on, also check to make sure the other side of this curcuit is grounding, bk/lg wire.

If thats OK then the y/bl wire on the ECU replay should again have B+ coming from a fusable link or the power distribution box and the red wire will run over to the fuel pump relay. With the ECU replay closed then the B+ at the red wire will energize the fuel pump relay if the ECU grounds the connection through the t/lg wire.

The bk/y wire at the fuel pump relay should have B+ coing from a fusable link or power distribution box. The o/lb runs to the ECU and the pump.

Hope this helps.
