I don't know Ty, I think the 302 with 4.10's would be fun in a little FlareSide. A single cab FlareSide my year weighs in around 3,800 lbs. Not light but not super heavy, either!
It would be fun, but if the truck is going to tow or haul anything it wouldn't be ideal at all. The 300 is much more suitable for that, because of its powerband.

The 302 is one of the best. It's like the GM 350.
I do see why everyone uses 350's though. I've priced crate engine 302's to swap into my truck. They aren't cheap.
I hate that you can go down to the Chevy dealer and pick up a performance crate motor but you can't do that at Ford. I wish Ford would do that with the 302s and 351s.

You can. They are called SVT crate engines. But only SVT authorized dealers can get them. But summit and Jegs carry them
