One of my buddies friends has a mid late 90's cummins reg cab with close to 300k with orig eng and trans. He recently put twin turbos on it and he has the stock little car tires on it.
My truck is a 06 CC LB 4x4 PSD with 33 inch mud tires. Hes been callin me out and thinks he can pull my truck..
I think that with those little car tires + twin turbos = him spinning the tires faster OR him blowing up his 300k mile old trans with the stress off yankin chains and twin turbos.
Parts of me wanna air my tires down to 20 PSI and say ***** it and yank him all accross the parkin lot until his drive shafts break, just because hes talkin crap and i know i have the weight and traction advantage.
The other half of me says not to do it, to save this guy embarrassment and wear and tear on my truck... What do yall think???
Ehh...I'm to the point in life that I've got nothing to prove to anyone else. Whatever floats your boat...just get video and pictures or it didn't happen.
Last time I did that...because a guy was talking smack I torn his frame..be sure you put a blanket on the chain so it it comes loose it will just lay down.
Borrow or rent a dump trailer and load it with gravel so it is pushing his towing capacity (because yours is higher) and do time trials up a hill somewhere. THAT means something.

I would have done it without thinking twice when I was younger. Now I'm much more mature and wise.
So YOU go ahead and do it on video so I can watch your young foolishness!
lol im 22, so im young.. But i wouldnt say foolish hahah. Most of me doesnt wanna do it.. But itd be nice to put that person who owns the dodge in his place ya know?? But my truck is the most expensive thing ive bought so i dont know if its the smartest thing maturity wise etc...
Scott what truck have you pulled against that tore his frame? And IF i end up doin it, then i WONT be using chains.. Id never do that. I got plenty of nylon rope lol Even then, ill still put a blanket on it if i do it..
But yankin chains dont prove ****. Whos ever smarter driver, has a heavier truck and wider tires wins.. Which i have all three.
IF i did it, what do you think id do to that poor little reg cab short bed cummins with little bitty car tires?? lmao I know with his high mileage that hes bound to break somthin if i decide to hook up tow ropes with him

Its not the size of the tires, the age/mileage of the truck, its about the weight.
You would think bigger tires mean more traction but that isn't true. With tires it comes to rubber compound. The softer tire will grip more no matter the size. A huge tire may look impressive but if the compound is hard it will not have traction. Also a big tire distributes the weight of the vehicle more over the contact surface which in turn makes it have less traction as well. An example I can think of right now is a motorcycle. Think of a 200hp motorcycle putting all its power down threw a 1x2" contact patch without spinning.
If the dodge guy has soft compound tires and your tires are fairly hard and you guys are somewhat similar in weight you won't be happy with the outcome. High mileage doesn't mean he'll be spreading parts all over either.
The ONLY thing hooking up chains to two vehicles proves is which one weighs more.
Wrong!! Only means which one gets the traction!!! There is a video of a sd chained to a kw and the kw was spinning his tires. I am sure the cam weighed more that the sd!
