After I hit the send button, the words "I want a divorce" crossed my mind, but having no experience in that area I couldn't say for sure which would cost more. Nor which ones would be the better spent money.

I would imagine that "while I'm in there" has caused many cases of "I want a divorce"
Getting back to the bike lift/support train of thought. Since I'm looking at changing the oil...I'm wondering if something like this might be a better idea:
The reason I'm asking about this instead of a bonafid lift (like the ones that go under the frame)...is getting to the drain plug. And just as important a good place for the drain pan to sit. I'm not a fan of making a mess when changing the oil.

Cars, bikes, trucks, it's all the same.
AMEN! I can think of several projects/toys around here that cost more than I wanted to spend up front. Crap, repair jobs on the house have ended up that way around here.

Swapped pages and was confused when Walley posted his first message at the top of this page. Thank you Jeff for getting it as clear as mud for those of us not quite all the way awake.
Zack, you might be right on that if you've got a bike with a drain plug underneath. Never really thought about that as all my Harleys are old enough that they have tanks with drains off to the side. I have to hold a long funnel under the plug as I remove it.
The trannys drain from the bottom, but I just use an old hub cap(yes, the GMC one I had on my spare tire)and do them right on the floor without the lift.
Morning gentlemen, supposed to rain today & tonight. Guess no riding the scooter today.

Yeah, it's an issue I have to deal with since I ride "one of THOSE bikes".
Well I've gone & done it now. Just ordered an AE from Clay @ Riff Raff. Well that and a couple of other "necessities" for the Pavement Princess. I'm sure when my wife see everything that shows up, she won't agree. But hey, I'm the one that drives the Princess and keeps the Fleet of Fords going at my place.

Doesn't politics & prostitution also have the same thing in common? Screwing folks & taking their money...
Man I'm so busy right now I can't even think straight. I'd like to work on my trucks this weekend but I just don't think I'm gonna have time because of all the other projects I have to do.
I managed to get out into the shop last night and get the Jeep tranny back together. It even shifts into all 6 gears. Now all I have to do is get it back in the Jeep.
After I get the Jeep finished, I'm gonna tackle the front seal on the trans in my F-100. It just never ends.
