I have a SPDT Contura switch. Anyone know how to wire it. It has 4 terminals on the back 1,2,3,4. It is illuminated and would like it to light up when the respective position is selected. Looked on their website, but it is jibberish to me. Thought someone has done this before and could help me out.
Well, a V6xx makes sense, as that is a SPDT, CENTER OFF, in the book, but it shows as having only three NUMBERED terminals, and four more un-numbered (for the illumination).
What are you going to use it for? That will determine the hook-up.
Wanting to have two options for my "trailer tow battery charge" wire in my 7 pin. I want to have a stock (on with key) and a constant hot. I am using it for my interior trailer lights and dont want to go turn the key on every time I want the lights on. After looking at it again it looks like this.
8 7

not looking it catalog. Looking at back of switch. I dont really know how else to describe it. Ordered the switch online. I used to have them for my ARB locker that I had on my ranger and I have seen a lot of people use them on here. I am thinking that I can cut the wire going to the trailer connector after the fuse panel. I will then connect the cut end of the wire that goes to the 7 pin to one of the terminals. Next I will connect the cut end coming from the fuse to the first "on" position and then connect a "constant hot" wire to the second on position.
I'd do it with the existing Trailer Battery Charge relay, and break open the wire (I show it as a Black wire with yellow tracer) from "ignition on" to the relay coil.
Wire the "common" back to the relay coil, with one position to the previously cut wire, and the other to "constant hot".
That keeps the trailer "battery charge" circuit fused for safety.
If you can take a photo of the back side of your switch, I can help you further, but I've gotta' see it, as your description isn't registering in my mind's eye.
Sorry pic didnt work, but the link is there to the pic. I will have to figure out how to make the pics work later. Got to run for a little bit, will check back later.
Thanks for the help
My relay is in a separate "doghouse" adjacent to my under-hood fuse panel, which yours doesn't even have.
I'll have rely on someone with your year to chime in here to let us know where to find that relay.
I had no problem seeing your photo. Can you take one of the other side so I can identify the series of switch? The ones I'm looking at don't have an "8" at all.
I see what you mean about there not being any 8's. There are some on the second page of that diagram, but none of them are the same numbers as mine. I am working on more pics.
