Alright so we just got done at the doctors today and he gave us a little good news. He said the "nodule" was round and smooth and doesn't look like a typical lung cancer nodule. Apparently if it's cancer the nodule has points and jagged edges and he says he looks at literally hundreds of these a day and this doesn't look like what cancer looks like.
Also we had older x-rays from 1997 and he said that he can almost see it on the x-ray and thinks it's been there for a while and if it was cancer she would be dead by now. So its a little good news which helped alleviate the anxiety we have been going through. I have to take her to have PET scan done on Friday and if there is any cancer then they will detect it. I'll be glad once Friday is over and we hopefully have good news.
I'll keep you guys posted and thanks again for all the positive words I really appreciate it!
Always good to get a break. Nearly lost my wife a few years ago to lymphoma, caught late. It is it's own miracle that she is still here, as most of the docs walked away, but one stuck it out.
Well my mom had her doctor appointment today. It was a rough day waiting for the results of her PET scan. It was worth the wait though because the doctor said everything was fine. He also said that he was surprised at how well she did on her lung breathing test and she was only slightly below what a person who hadn't smoked would be.
It's crazy how you can almost drive yourself insane by thinking up the worst scenarios in your head, we got lucky though and it certainly helped when I signed on this site and saw all the kind words. I have never met any of you personally but I think of you guys as my "online" family. All the positive feedback and prayers is greatly appreciated.
