That is it for now. I am having a problem with the motor mounts. They came out of an early 70's truck with a 390. they dont just bolt up in the 1977 frame. 3 of the bolt holes line up. I was going to just weld the other side of the mount to the frame. Any ideas?
This is going to be a good build to follow so keep the pics coming. You can do a search on motor mounts and there is some good info on here. I was looking to help a friend do a swap like that. He has a 79 f100 and he's got a 390 out of a 70 or 71 model truck. I'll see what I can find out on the bolt holes. If 3 of the 4 bolt holes line up I really dont see why you cant weld the 4th. I'll see what my buddy did and I'll get back with you.
The axles are not really 2011, I was just kidding since they are just about new. I replaced everything in them! I've built too many junk yard trucks, this one is going to be a 2011 1977 ford F150.
As for the motor, I scored it out of a 427 cobra replica with 6,000 miles on it. It was built by a cobra builder in new britain, CT. Motor was dyno tuned. Has a 750 holley on top. Nothing crazy but it is streetable, and that is what I wanted.
Amazing build and a great story behind the truck, what a great way to honor tge memory of your friend. These old trucks are so much fun to build, my truck seems to get better every pay day
