Good Evening Gang! It has been awhile since my last post. As you know in that post I told all of you that I was going to the Mid-Year Moose Convention in Morgantown with my lady.
It has actually took me this long to recover and I have been back home since Sunday night. All I can say is WOW, what a party. I really do not where to start. Upon arrival, the motel screwed up and gave mea room with twin beds. Nope, NADA, Not going to happen. After raising a little hell, I got a room on the first floor. I did not know it was an executive suite until I opened the door. It had a sitting room and a private Bedroom and bath, but in that bath was a jucuzzi, and a walk-in one at that. Well, you can guess where Connie and I spent Wednesday Evening with a few bottles of wine. It was great.
Thursday morning arrived just too soon. I took my wrinkled body to the pool and then we got ready to go to the Elimination Drawing. We did not win anything there, butthe steak dinner was great. As there was not much of anything going on this night, we just roamed the Hospitality Rooms and got quite loaded, then back to the room and that jucuzzi.
Friday Morning arrived to fast. It was off to breakfast and to the first meeting, sat through the reports, did mine on safety and forms and then went to a Fellowship Lunch. The afternoon meeting was the one that blew my mind. Preliminary Elections were held. I retained my seat as Safety Chairman, but got pre-elected to be President of my District. WOW. After that meeting was party time. I did not make it to the second meeting. The jacuzzi was calling us.
The Saturday meetings were typical, but the new officers were given their post for the following year. So far mine looks like this:
Junior Governor in My Lodge
President in My District
Financial Chairman in the Moose Legion
CAPS (Safety) Chairman for the State Association.
Looks like my butt is going to be very busy this year. I am glad that Connie is by my side and participating. She enjoys the constant mayhem going on in my life.
One thing I forgot, Saturday Night, I won a 12 gauge shotgun. It is a Bernelli with the camo pack. Very sharp looking shotgun. The first one that I have owned in years. I will add that to my collection that I am now building up.
Well, I have had a hell of a week and weekend.
