So I decided that the ticking I was hearing from my brother's truck was not worthy of an engine replacement. I took it to a mechanic my dad trusts and he agreed with me. He determined that it is cam phasers, and I agree 100%. I think Ford was being crooked *********s. When I went to pick up the truck, they said they would give us $8500 for it, as is. This made me very suspicious of their intentions, because if they gave us 8500, and then had another 6500 in it to fix it, then they wouldn't even get what it is worth, so why would they throw money away like that? Lying *******s.. Another life lesson learned, never trust a dealership..
Yeah it is a common problem. I am just really pissed off at our local Ford dealer right now.. Like I said, they pretty much tried screwing us out of our truck.. Tried to tell us that it needed a new engine, and then offer us half of the truck's value.. I am VERY insulted by that.. I don't think I am going to take ANYTHING there ever again.
