Trim question

I am restoring a 73 f250. I am wanting to put the trim pieces on the tailgate to make it look nicer. I am curious about the center trim molding that's says "ford". Will it fit over my tailgate that has "Ford" stamped on it? I didn't know if the trucks that had the trim on the tailgate were smooth or flat.

Im pretty sure they are all the same tailgate. Not positive since the "fanciest" dent Ive owned is my current Ranger which doesnt have that trim either. All the rest Ive owned were either stripper Customs or didnt even have a tailgate anymore.

Yes it will fit. All factory tailgates had the "FORD" stamped on them.
I put the trim piece on mine when I had it in the body shop. Make a template out of some stiff cardboard to locate your holes that you will need to drill in the tailgate. Measure twice (minimum) and drill carefully.

Thanks for all of your help. I seen a tailgate trim kit go cheap on e-bay. I am kicking myself in the rear now. I wasn't sure if it was going to fit so I didn't buy it.
