Well you know its a problem in your switch/wires from the turn signal housing to the lights. Since I'm not familiar with the exact wiring, I would guess your hazards and turns are wired into the same harness just a different flasher for each function. I'd suspect its your turn signal switch, or maybe even your flasher/relay for your turns. I had a similar issue in my 86 Iroc I replaced my flasher and they work like magic. It is the the piece about size of a silver dollar (a fuse basically) that plugs into either your harness as found in my IROC, or in your fuse block. It causes a momentary blockage of current which results in your blinking function.

The front and rear signal lights are on seperate curcuits, as the rear double as the brake lights. If the 4 ways all work, but only the rear signals, it's typically a problem in the turn signal switch itself, or the wires near the switch. Could be an issue with the bulb sockets, though.
Silly, but related question. Turn indicators in the dash work? They are tied into the same curcuit as the front signals.

My '85 has an issue with the left turn signal that if I click it all the way "on" the rear blinks but not the front. If I *slightly* lift up on the lever (not enough to click it off) it works fine. It's a bad contact on the actual switch in the column.

Try this... Lightly engage the signals as if you were just changing lanes, not clicking them completely on. See if they work in front this way. If so, it's a bad switch. if not, it's more likely wiring.

I mentioned the switch because on mine when it "glitches" the dash indicators don't work either for the left side. Did you try doing the "lane change" blinker thing I suggested? Just lightly engage the blinkers without clicking them fully on?

If the rear are working and the front and dash indicators are not, it's still most likely the switch itself.

Hahaha, I have a bunch of small stuff to get I try and group it together. I just bought a flatbed the other day, and then my next order is going to be lift, straight up timing with double roller, stereo setup, vinyl floor mat, then holley avenger efi setup, then ranger overdrive unit, and then winch bumper, and then kcs. Then my baby shall be owing some kids! On a side note I ran 4.10 gear, 0.73 overdrive, and then 75 mph, truck should only be turning about 1981 RPM not bad!
