First mod for the '11

Picked up a Edge programmer a couple weeks ago and put it in my truck. Haven't had a lot of seat time to really try it out, but I mostly bougt it for towing the camper. The truck dosen't get used much in winter been driving the old Sable to work. Not to sure if there will be any other mods yet, I was thinking about intake, exhust and a custom program for the tunner, but we'll see.

keep us posted, with the fuel prices hitting the roof if it saves gas it`ll quickly pay for it`s self.

Have you had time yet to see how much of a gain is there?

No, I Haven't had much time to check mileage yet. I don't drive the truck much, it gets used mainly for pulling the camper, boat or skidoo trailer.

Good luck... Don't expect to get incredible mileage gains. I might have picked up .5 or 1 mpg with tuner, intake and exhaust. I've found that driving style is the biggest problem (no surprise there), and quality of fuel. Lately my truck has been getting really poor fuel economy, I've had a few guys tell me that they've switched to shell fuel and have been getting 20% better gains than with coop, superstore, fas gas and some of the others...

If you get an intake and exhaust you can send your Edge to Power Hungry Performance and the can put some custom tunes on for you.

Ya, I was checking out that web site the other day Colin. Do you have to send them the tunner or can you upload the custom programs online?

I might have to give a custom tune a try.

Correction to the tiltle of my thread, my trucks a 2010 not a 2011. I wish I had waited for a 2011 but none of the dealers could give me any info on want excatly was coming down the line in 2011. Now I think I would get the same configuration as what I got but I would get the ecoboost under the hood.

I like the possibilities of the eco boost also, I seen one up at Southey the other day.

I haven't noticed any large differences in mileage between fuel suppliers. I've put shell, co-op and others in the tank and the truck burns lots of them all

I use shell fuel in my stuff, I find the wehicles get a little better mileage on it. I run premium in the truck, only because i might go a month or two between fill ups and it dosen't go bad as fast!

I'm going to fill everything with shell fuel today. We're going sledding tomorrow, but trailering about an hour to get to the play spot. It will be a good test for the toys and truck to see how they run on different fuel...
