If you can't find anyone reliable locally for reman'd heads maybe head to eBay Motors? There tends to be many many vendors of most anything there and you'd have the comfort of checking their feedback for a reputation.

I would have thought there'd be many shops near you who'll refresh your current heads--just make sure they're well versed in the Ford Mod motors.

That's one of the biggest reasons I use eBay for a lot of stuff. I can check their feedback. Kinda like the BBB but right there for everyone to see upfront

I used Clearwater (2 years, 15K miles ago) and they were fine. Not spectacular, but quite adequate. Good value. I had to redo a couple exhaust heli-coils and clean up a ding on the corner of one head. They had done a nice job on the spark plug inserts.

I was able to exchange my non-PI heads for PI heads from them at no extra cost. It was pretty easy to find PI intake.

You will really, really like the difference.... A little silver lining to this painful experience.

im hoping the upgrade will be good. mike already has my X3 on the way and I hoping to get everything rounded up or at least ordered by this weekend. I might try to do it myself just to keep out of pocket cost down a bit , but not sure yet. i guess new gears will have to wait a while. that was the plan before all this happened

Scott is there any word from the mechanic shop about all this? Any offers to pay for the replacements or anything else?

Sure hate to see you footing the entire bill for a problem not caused by you.
