mirror wiggle problem
mirror wiggle problem
Hello all!
who recognises the problem that doors equipped with these mirrors have the tendancy to open up the top part all the time when a truck passes by and the following air stream hits the mirror?
My question; does a remedy exist for this problem?

never had that problem myself , how is the door is there any structural damage to the top half of the doors ?
one thing that you might want to do is put a brace from the bottom of the mirror to the door to help hold the weight of the mirror !

My brother had mirrors like that on my highboy when I got it. Are there nylon washers or any "detents" in the pivots?
Or are you talking about the mirror itself moving while the actual "U" stays put?

No, i'm not talking about that, the thing that annoies me,is that the whole mirror assy wiggles INCLUDING the top part of the door when a big lorry passes or something likely
And that is what i try to stop
Anyone got any ideas?
One or two braces from where the hoop bar for the mirror attaches to the lower arms from the door. These braces will angle from there to about 18 inches lower on the door. If you use one, put it about midway of the span of the existing lower mirror arms, if you use two (best option) spread them about the same as the existing lower mirror arms. The part of the door that is the upper window frame on those trucks is not as rigid as the older models, so the extra mirror bracing will help.
