6637 question

Good day all, I hate to butcher my original airbox/battery tray, any ideas on a quality battery holder to fit in place ? Possibly a gasser SD ? Maybe they have a tray even though there's only a single battery....thanx in advance, and for all the great advice and info from you all. Mike in Jersey

I leave the stock battery/ airbox, just take the airbox pieces out, 4 bolts and cut the bottom supports so the filter will sit lower. that way you still have the cold air flow from the front of truck. You can also go get a marine battery hold down from West Marine or such.

nothing to butcher, for mine to fit in place. remove the stock airbox assy, and the, believe the 4-metal "tabnuts", whatever they're called, from the bottom pan and side of batt tray.

wouldn't be a bad tome to do the "zoodad" mod. Look at left side of batt tray, you'll see a "tunnel". Follow it to where it goes at front of grille, well, theres a "wall" of plastic in front of it. The mod is to cut a rectangular shape there, so you'll get free-flow air, right to filter....use some type of screen (i bought one of those hood range screens) at depot, pulled the wiremesh from it, and installed over the hole. And the grill will take about a minute to remove.

I sense the presense of the 50 cent mod and tightening of the injector hold down bolts, as well...lol

Along with the re-paint of the rocker covers to match the red body color, and some IC boots from RiffRaff....red of course !
