FICM Question
I took my truck to the local stealership here in town to have my truck flashed to try and cure hard starts when cold. They came back with my FICM is bad and needs replaced. Didn't want to spend the $ to pay them so I bought one on ebay. Put it on and no start. Checked the voltage and all was good. So I put the old one back on checked the voltage and it was fine. Long story ....do I need to get the new FICM programmed for my truck and can I do this without putting it in? The stealer claimed the original FICM may have cracked solder joints and the voltage readings may vary....never had a no start just hard and very rough idle for 30-60 seconds when I can't plug my truck in. Thanks.
