oil

is this a good oil to use?

Shell/1 gal. SAE 15W-40 Rotella T heavy duty motor oil (550019913) | Engine Oil | AutoZone.com


and whats the part number for the powerstroke oil filter that will fit?

That oil and Chevron Delo 400EL 15W-40. I believe the PS oil filter Part # is FL-1995. That's what I run as well.

I'd convert to synthetic (I am converting to synthetic, lol) if I were you. Much better and keep your engine cleaner and quieter.

Rotella 15W-40 is where its at. Its all I use and im at almost 400k on my engine.....

for now seeing that im 16 with no job ill stick with the cheaper stuff synthetic will be considered by time summer comes and i get my job haha but for now i gotta be cheap. wish i didnt have to but oh well haha. and for the quieter part like i said im 16 i like my diesels LOUD

cheap stuff but great protection is the napa 15/40, good blend of additives and it works very well.

Mobil 5-40 is what I'm gonna run, fully synthetic with a powerstroke filter.

thats the one zakk. it rated very high in a comparison of oils and its very cheap. it has a perfect blend of cleaning agents and wear metals like molybdenum and zinc. I run it now and wont ever change. synthetic is good but a 15/40 like this will perform nearly just as good. protects the metal parts like you need.
