Sorry to resurrect this zombiethread, but I just got my PLX Kiwi and have been playing with Torque on my phone and tablet. I have the TorqueScan plugin to start scanning PIDs when I have some time, but if you could give me a list, or post a list here I would appreciate it, I especially want to get my EOT and Trans Temp.

Have any of you noticed that under full boost, the boost values in Torque jump around?

It does read fuel pressure, however the 6.0L diesel does monitor fuel pressure thru the PCM.

toothpick: what vehicle do you have? there is no list...kinda we have to create them. I can assist you on what you have to create a custom pid gauge.

I have worked with the developer everyone's torque app now comes with some 6.0L stuff I gave him. (better the 6.0l community)

torquescan will pull raw data off of the pcm in hex then it has to be picked apart to come up with an equation.

I have an '05 F350.

Is there a list anywhere that will say which headers equate to which reading?

From torque scan it shows the active PIDS in the ford PCM. you need to data log those pids in order to figure out an equation.

however.....

there is EOT already there for you.... go to advanced settings then pull in the Ford pre-defined custom pid list. Most of my pids are in there for the powerstroke i.e. the EOT.

Also,

its a mother-****** to get torque to read 07e1 pids for some reason. not sure why. I do not have anything usable yet as fart as trans temp.

If there are any other ones that I have not created I will be glad to help you figure them out....

I dont know how it can read ffuel pressure theres no sensor for it anywhere on a stock truck. you have to get a sensor and a gauge to read it. Everyone has to start from scratch on fuel pressure readings

If you think your getting a fuel pressure reading your not its something eles

I think the most you could get is a fuel pulse width on an injector

no trucks will read that without a sensor doesnt matter what gauge you have

Whelp, **** I am a moron for not even looking to try that.

If there is a list of what pids are for what info, I am more than glad to help out figuring out the equations for the additional levels.

You may have mis understood me I was referring to torqe app...it picks up ford's PID for fuel pressure.

Correct our 6.0L trucks do not have a pid and or a sensor to read fuel pressure.

Yes I have fuel pulse width figured. not sure what it is off the top of my head.

yes some of that is useful but sometimes to get the gauge to work correctly I need the header of the PID code....not just the remaining 4 digits....

example need comple request code for a pid:

Engine oil temp...

07e0221310

07e0 is the header torque can read that pretty well...

22 is the request for information (do NOT alter from that number)

1310 is EOT pid.

and that is just a start......

Are those PIDS in the free version of the app? I don't see any kind of "advanced settings" in it... I'd love to use this app in my 04 F250 6.0L, but I was hoping to see it work before I bought it.

I'll take a look at this thread you posted, but I'm curious why I don't see the presets. (Probably user error...)

TBH, if it helps at all, I am not sold on Torque. I've noticed it's slow as hell when logging more than half a dozen parameters. I have also noticed that communication over BT is a pain in the *****, more often than not requiring rebooting every item (the reader and the phone) before I can connect. Also, there isn't any advanced data such as Air/Fuel ratios etc, and IME the EOT readings aren't even in the stratosphere of unreliable at best (it seems to be a Torque error, not any error with Jester's working, especially as what's downloaded doesn't have his math.) All this while I am using a PLX Kiwi which is supposed to be the best according to Torque's site.

Do I have any suggestions? Not yet, I haven't had time to try the other Android apps, and I am too broke to shell out another $100 for any computer software that will communicate with my BT Kiwi.

You won't get any of the extra stuff with the free, but I wouldn't waste the $5 for full version, seeing as the free seems to be more reliable for me to just clear the CEL I am constantly getting for EGR.

Too late... I went ahead and spent the $5 and found what he was talking about. It's a cool app, but I'm using a "clone" adapter, so the data is slow and unreliable, it seems. If I'm going to spend $100 for a new adapter, I'd rather just spend $150 on a ScanGauge II. Oh well, very cool idea, though!

Oh, and as an aside, EOT always shows up in Celsius, even when everything else is in Fahrenheit...
