Advice on purchasing Expedition

Im looking to purchase a 2000-2006 Expedition for an 8 passenger family vehicle. Can anyone give me advice on what to look for or be careful of? Is a particular year or engine more desirable? Anything to be leary of? Thanks for any help.

I think all of the trucks are handsome and very well built. I would just be leery of miles and maintenance.

In the Gen 1 version the seat does not fold into a flat floor like the Gen 2's does, and must be removed from the vehicle if you need the space. I think the Gen 2 also has better leg room for the back seat because of the redesigned rear body using the independent rear suspension (this is also what provides for cavity for the seat to fold down into).

Take a look at a 2003 versus a 2002 and you will see what we mean.
