shutter/miss when converter locked??

A little background. Some might remember the red 95 Bronco Sport I bought the end of summer 2010. I said at the time it had a miss when going up hills and hoped a tune up would fix the problem.

Well the miss got worse and worse, and I finally broke down and did a tune up the other week. The cheap aluminum contacts on the cap were fried and # 4 spark plug wire fell of the plug when I touched it. I put a good brass MSD cap & rotor, Taylor wires, and Autolite platinum plugs in it. That made a world of difference, but I still seem to have a problem.

I have what feels like an ignition miss, under certain conditions. After playing around I have found that this "miss" only happens when the converter is locked and under a load, such as pulling a hill. If I take it out of OD, converter locked, I still have the problem. Engine RPM has no effect on the problem. If I put my foot on the brake to unlock the converter, problem goes away. It does not matter if I'm in 3rd locked or OD locked. If locked it "misses", unlocked it is fine. Engine RPMs are higher in 3rd locked then in OD unlocked, so RPM does not seem to play any role in said problem.

I know at this point it is not an ignition miss, but to explain the way it feels, that is as close as I can think.

Oh yea, I did check the fluid. It is full, fluid looks nice and pink, and does not smell burnt.

Any thoughts?

OK I need to take back my post. She proved me a lair on the way home from work tonight. In OD unlocked she started that same miss thing again. First time I've felt it unlocked sense I did the tune up. Oh well back to the drawing board, when the weather warms up a bit more.
