electrical issues

Been trying to search for a specific problem but cant find anything close. Starting got really slow till no start, replaced the batteries and now nothin electrical works except the seats. Also when I put the key in the on position I cant move the gear selector from park?

may be a dumb question, but are you putting your foot on the brake when you try to take it out of park?

O by the way this is for a 2008 F250 6.4, not the F350 7.3 in my avatar

The forst thing I would check would be the connection to the batteries. Are you sure the terminlas are good and tight. Try turning the terminals by hand and if you can turn them then you know they are not tight. I assume you did not short anything when taken the batteries out or installing them. You didn't see any sparks or arcing did you? Good luck and let us know waht you find.

Yes the foot was on the brake as usual and still could not move selector from park, also there were no lights including the gear selector position. Checking fuses now.
